GOLF COURSES
Introduction:
The area where the game of golf is usually played is known by the term “golf course”. The golf course comprises of number of holes, which involves the rough, miscellaneous hazards such as the bunker and water, the green with the cup and the pin and the fairways. A normal golf course comprises of 18 holes, although some have only nine holes. The teeing box or the teeing area is the first section of each hole. Normally, the holes available in order to place the ball counts to more than one. Each hole is placed at varying distances from the golf hole. Commonly, as much as three tees are available in a golf course. The closest tee is the ladies’ tee. These are followed by men’s tee and the medal or the championship tee. The female golf tournaments are often begun by hitting off the men’s tee and the tournaments for men are often begun by hitting off the championship tees.
Miscellaneous:
When the teeing region is selected the golfer has to find a couple of marks, which denote the placing of the golf ball. Normally, a golfer can place the ball on any other natural substance or directly on to the teeing ground. The surface for teeing comprises of the region starting from the two club lengths, of the markers till the markers. The vertical extremities are automatically marked by the markers. Although a golf ball can be played from outside the boundaries of the teeing region, the golf ball needs to be shot within the same teeing area boundary. |
